Parrot A Brief Bio. I am currently living in San Luis Obispo where I have a one man Art and Architecture studio. My love of Art and Architecture started while watching my dad construct a room addition and sketching and drawing as a young boy. Attending Cal Poly State University in Architecture brought me to San Luis Obispo and, with a year abroad spent studying Scandinavian and European Art and Architecture, I was inspired to pursue a dual career in Architecture and Art.

Watercolors and Art.The subjects of my watercolors are inspired by both the beauty of nature and the beauty of ancient architecture. Having been raised trout fishing in the Sierra Nevada mountains and as a scuba diver has given me an artistic appreciation of all things underwater, including painting using the watercolor medium. My Architectural education at Cal Poly introduced me to the world of Architecture from ancient to modern. Ancient Architecture was particularly inspiring due to the many ways the ancient Architect integrated natural forms into their detailing.

Residential Architecture.Having a one man Architecture studio provides me with the opportunity to help bring my client's home building needs and desires to fruition. The home living environment is, at the same time, both functional and comfortable and inherently personal.

University Teaching (Retired).Among other endeavors as an Architect and Artist I enjoyed teaching at the university level here in San Luis Obispo, California in the College of Architecture and Environmental Design at Cal Poly State University. I taught at Cal Poly on a part time basis for 20 years with experience teaching in the Architecture, City and Regional Planning and Construction Management departments.
